Government to build primary health care centers

The Ministry of Public Health has announced that the Presidency plans to build 50 Primary Health Care Diagnostic Centers nationwide. The works will be carried out by the Supervisory Office of Public Works of the Presidency (OISOE), announced engineer Miguel Pimentel Kareh at the Presidential Palace.

Minister of Public Health Freddy Hidalgo said that the centers would help reduce congestion at the public hospitals by offering primary health care.

The centers will be equipped with X rays, sonograms, colposcopy and electrocardiograph equipment and others. They will be staffed by doctors specializing in pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, and psychologists.
