The Ministry of Public Health closed down two private clinics in Samana, after inspectors determined they operated below minimum quality levels. The closed clinics were Centro Medico la Gloria at Calle Duarte in Sanchez, and the Centro Medico de Especialidades Samana II, located on the main street in Las Galeras. The centers were not authorized to operate by the Ministry of Public Health and operated with precarious conditions. The closures were ordered by the Ministry of Public Health’s Direccion General de Habilitacion y Acreditacion.
The Ministry said all centers that operate in violation of General Health Law 42-01 and the Ruling 1138-03 for the operation of health services will be closed to ensure the quality of health services in the Dominican Republic.
