Antonio Peter de la Rosa, better known as merengue singer Omega, is currently in detention at the Palace of Justice in Santiago after being sentenced to jail for non-fulfillment of a contract.
He had been hired for a concert by Edwin Liriano on two separate occasions, but had taken the cash without actually performing.
Judge Ingrid Liberto set bail at RD$3 million in cash plus an exit ban, and Omega will remain in jail until he pays the money back.
