In a message published for Farmers’ Day, today, Wednesday 15 May, President Danilo Medina said: “The down-to-earth and humble lives of our country folk, their hard work and desire to improve their lot, serve as inspiration for the Dominican government.” He added that this was why he has placed aiding farmers among his top priorities, in order to provide them with the support that they need, so that they can revive our fields and supply the country’s markets. “We need to rescue the Dominican countryside, restart that love for the earth with eyes focused on a future full of optimism and opportunities,” continues the President’s message to the farmers.
