The Chamber of Deputies energy commission met with the Superintendent of Electricity Eduardo Quincoces yesterday, Monday 20 May to intercede on behalf of the business community in Samana that is complaining of the high cost of power in the area. Fuerza y Luz is the private company providing the service in Las Terrenas, Las Galeras and El Limon. Quincoces said that the Superintendence would soon contract a company to study the true costs of generation by the power companies serving the area. The deputies are considering a resolution asking President Medina to instruct the Superintendence to find ways of reducing the electricity rate in the area.
