19 tourists injured in safari truck crash

The Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) reports that 23 people, including 19 Puerto Rican tourists, were injured in an accident on the Higuey-La Otra Banda road at noon yesterday, Thursday 6 June. The collision occurred between a Hyundai truck belonging to Manigua Adventure (refitted as a ‘safari’ truck for tourist excursions) and an Isuzu SUV. The tourists were returning to their hotel after an excursion. The injured were taken to the Dr. Cedano clinic in Higuey for treatment.
