The Medina administration is employing sign language interpreters for press conferences at the Presidential Palace. Vladimir Silfa, the first person to provide animated explanations for deaf and hard-of-hearing people in the country, will head the team of interpreters. His first appearance was at the press conference following the meeting of the National Mitigation and Disaster Council.
The Presidency said that the idea is to integrate a segment of the population that also needs to be informed acting in line with the Law 5-13 on Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities.
