WHO collaborates to prevent sicknesses in jails

Four chlorine-making machines from the WHO representative in the DR, Lilian Reneau Vernon, and Liz Parra, consultant to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Emergency and Disaster Program will be installed to improve water quality for inmates in La Victoria jail. Tomas Holguin de la Paz, director general of Prisons, says that the new equipment is part of work being done on prevention programs in prisons together with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health.
