Olimpia Gonz?lez, the indicted former head of the Dominican Teacher?s Union (ADP), has been appointed Vice Consul in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as reported in Hoy newspaper. Currently a RD$26,000-a-month ?advisor? at the Ministry of Education, Gonz?lez is under indictment for a RD$15-million fraud that took place during her administration of the ADP funds. The journalist, Mari?n Capit?n, says that Gonz?lez has been soliciting assistance to go to Puerto Rico in order to receive medical treatment for Hepatitis C.
