The Ministry of Public Works reports that detours are now in force for drivers using Santo Domingo’s Av. Privada and 27 de Febrero intersection. The Ministry of Public Works and Brazilian construction company Odebrecht are carrying out major road improvements at the intersection. Traffic is now being rerouted via the Prolongacion Guacanagarix, continuing to Calle Higuey to retake the Av. 27 de Febrero and resume traveling on Av. Privada. An alternative route is to take Av. Nunez de Caceres and continue on Romulo Betancourt to retake Privada, or via Av. Caonabo continuing on Calle Miguel Angel Monclus to retake Privada. Drivers need to bypass the 27 de Febrero and Privada intersection, which is closed to traffic.
