Italian and Dominicans arrested for drugs

According to the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) a gang of drug dealers, supposedly headed by an Italian national, were arrested on Sunday 22 July in possession of four packets of what is thought to be cocaine.

Those arrested were the Italian, Vicenso Serrapede, aged 40, and Dominicans Junior Salvador Ramirez Taveras, 42, Dario Osoria Rivera, 33, and Emilio Amparo Paulino, aged 61.

The Italian man has already appeared in court in the past for drug-related offences and lives in the upscale area of Arroyo Hondo in Santo Domingo.

DNCD spokeswoman Jacqueline Lamarche said that the drugs, which have been sent to the National Institute of Forensic Science (Inacif) for analysis, were found behind the driver’s seat in a Grand Cherokee jeep in which the detained men had been travelling.
