The Superintendence of Banking is mediating in the conflict between Cardnet and the National Fuel Retailers Association (Anadegas), which ordered a ban on credit card usage by its members on Monday, 29 July due to a 1.95 to 3% increase in the fee for the use of Mastercard, American Express and ATH.
Anadegas president Rafael Polanco said he would meet with Bank Superintendent Rafael Camilo at 10am today, Wednesday 31 July. He has also asked the Minister of Industry and Commerce Jose del Castillo Savinon and consumer protection body ProConsumidor director Altagracia Paulino to intervene.
