Arts palace could be named after Freddy Beras Goico

The Palacio de Bellas Artes, home to the government schools of the arts, is likely to be known as the Palacio de Bellas Artes Freddy Beras Goico in the future. The Executive Branch has sent a request for this proposal to the Senate, and it is almost certain to be approved as the PLD holds the majority in Congress. The late Beras Goico was a popular TV host and producer, comedian, notable for his campaigns for social solidarity. Beras Goico died of pancreatic cancer on 18 November 2010. He was best known for his long running show, El Gordo de la Semana (1973-2003).
