Isabel la Catolica and Arzobispo Merino streets are under construction as part of the first phase of the urban renewal works underway in the Colonial City. Construction includes putting utility cables underground and expanding sidewalks. The first phase is due for completion in time for the start of the winter tourism season. Meanwhile, shops in the area are complaining that sales are down 50% given the difficulties in getting through the construction site.
