ES Magazine of Hoy newspaper and Puntacana Group have awarded six organizations with the ES Conservation and Environment Prizes, now in their fourth year. The awards are given to individuals and entities for their actions and solutions to protect the environment.
This year the Fundacion Desde el Medio won the main prize, presented to Ivan Gomez who climbed Mount Everest last year. Agua Dasani won the award for the best problem solving campaign of the year, and Miriam Calzada was named the Women’s Problem Solver. Cemex received the award as the Best Company, and the Pay for Environmental Water Services in the Yaque del Norte River Basin campaign received the award as project of the year. Frank Asmar won the Community Problem Solver prize.
Special awards were given to the UNPHU and UNIBE universities, the Banco Popular, the Dominican Postal Institute (IMPOSDOM), Interior Design Show 2013 and Hoy newspaper for their contributions to the protection and conservation of the Dominican Republic’s environment.
