Agriculture Minister Luis Ramon Rodriguez has told Diario Libre that President Danilo Medina has approved the sanitary procedure document that authorizes Haitian authorities to inspect the conditions under which poultry is raised with a view to restarting exports to Haiti.
Rodriguez said that in around 30 days as many poultry farms as possible will be certified so that the Haitian authorities can have a list of Dominican farms approved to sell their products there. He went on to say that around 20 poultry farms would receive this new certification and hoped that Haiti would soon lift the ban that was imposed last June.
