Mayors belonging to the PRD have announced the creation of the “Movement for a United PRD” with the aim of mediating in the party’s internal conflicts and to unify it before the elections in 2016.
The vice president of the PRD National Municipal Affairs Secretariat, Victor D’Aza, made the announcement in a meeting of mayors and municipal staff where he obtained 43 signatures of support from the 50 mayors.
He said that this new movement would organize a series of events at municipal level and meetings with leading PRD figures like Hipolito Mejia, Miguel Vargas Maldonado, Luis Abinader, Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Enmanuel Esquea Guerrero and other senior party members.
