The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) arrested two transsexuals at Las Americas International Airport yesterday, Tuesday 3 September, one from Puerto Rico and one Dominican who were travelling as mules to New York, apparently with drugs in their stomachs.
The DNCD said that Puerto Rican Gabriel Alexis Barrios Gonzalez, 40 and Dominican Jose Luis Hernandez Ruiz, 23, had around 91 packets of what was thought to be cocaine or heroin.
They were taken to a hospital to expel the drugs and then to DNCD headquarters where they will be charged.
