Whilst attending a ceremony to lay a wreath at the Altar of the Homeland to celebrate National Consumer Rights Day, the head of the National Consumer Rights Protection Institute (ProConsumidor) Altagracia Paulino announced that RD$98,503,901 has been returned to consumers in the last year as a result of ProConsumidor’s involvement in 1,489 cases.
They also said that over the same time period the institute decommissioned 97,676 products that were unfit for human consumption and identified 387 contractual clauses that were prejudicial to consumers.
Speaking about ProConsumidor’s presence on the social networks, the number of ‘Likes’ on their Facebook page now stood at 1,584 and they had 52,653 followers on Twitter.
