First Lady Candida Montilla de Medina launched the “Youth Awareness” program yesterday, Wednesday 11 September as part of the government’s bid to reduce teenage pregnancies by raising awareness among children and their parents. This is a new component of the “Intelligent Communities” program run by the First Lady’s Office. It has the blessing of the Catholic Church. According to Listin Diario, Montilla said that there were three components: A Center for Integrated Training of Adolescents, prevention work in high schools and training of parents through talks and strengthening their relationships with their children.
