Politur to patrol on horseback

The Army chief of staff, Major General Ruben Paulino Sem, reported on Wednesday, 11 September that starting in December, the members of the Tourism Police (Politur) will carry out their patrol duties on horseback. The general said that this service would be especially located in the Colonial area and along the Mirador Sur Park in the National District. He said that the initiative was being coordinated with the chief of Politur, General Amilcar Fernandez Tejada. Paulino Sem said that the program is part of the Public Safety program launched by President Danilo Medina, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
