Window washer murdered on the street

A yet unidentified armed man killed a window washer at the intersection of Sarasota and Jimenez Moya avenues in Santo Domingo on the evening of Saturday, 14 September. Witnesses said that the washer had demanded payment. This led to an argument. The deceased has only been identified by fellow window washers as Miguel, from San Pedro de Macoris. His body is at the National Forensic Pathology Institute and had not yet been claimed.

Aggressive panhandlers are common at major city streets and they try to wash your car windows whether you want them to or not. It is common for them to lather up windshields and wipe them clean, and signal for tips from drivers. Most ignore them, but this is the first time that someone got so annoyed that he killed the washer.

Diario Libre says that the driver was identified as driving a gray Honda Accord license plate A527415.

As reported, the deceased hit the killer’s vehicle with a metal can and then ran off. The driver then shot at the youth from a distance and drove away.
