President Medina visits technical high school

President Danilo Medina visited students at the Salesiano Technical Institute (Itesa) in the Maria Auxiliadora area of the National District yesterday, Tuesday 17 September, and toured the student workshops.

The students showed several of the machines they had designed and built.

Itesa has several workshops for students in electronics, electricity and industrial mechanics working in collaboration with the governmental Professional Training Institute, Infotep. The students take these courses for their four years of high school and graduate with a technical certificate, which makes it easier for them to find jobs quickly. Almost 1,000 students are enrolled in the programs at Itesa.
