President Danilo Medina has congratulated the people and institutions for winning the prizes awarded annually by the Corripio Foundation for outstanding performance in their fields.
In a letter sent to former vice president Rafael Alburquerque, who was awarded the Prize for Merit in the Social Sciences and Judiciary 2013, in the Legal Category, Medina highlighted his brilliant professional career and his service to the country, which he described as an example for future generations.
President Medina also wrote to Juan Bolivar Diaz, winner of the journalism prize. He commented on the journalist’s merits, saying that he had always produced high quality work throughout his long career.
Another letter was sent to actor and theater director Ivan Garcia Guerra, winner of the Arts Prize in the Theater category. The President said that Garcia had become the benchmark for the arts and culture within the country.
President Medina also congratulated Doctor Heriberto Pieter from the Oncology Institute for winning the Service Institution prize.
