Seaborne Airlines is already accepting bookings for flights on its La Romana-San Juan route set to start 15 December 2013 in time for the high Christmas season. Gary Foss, CEO for the airline met with President Danilo Medina at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Monday 21 October. The airline wants to carry passengers who previously traveled with American Eagle in the Caribbean. Seaborne has a codeshare partnership with American Airlines. Foss says they expect to be back in the Dominican Republic to announce other routes.
David Masson and Gardar Forberg of Lithuanian-based Avion Express also met with the President, and expressed the company’s interest in creating a Dominican affiliate of Avion Express to fly to European and North American destinations.
