Need to end organized crime

Speaking at a workshop entitled “Harmonization of Penal Legislation for Organized Crime in Central America and the Dominican Republic” yesterday, Monday 28 October, organized by the Conference of Justice Ministers in Ibero-America (COMJIB), via an initiative by the Central American Integration Initiative (SICA), the president of the Supreme Justice Court, Mariano German said that the organized crime phenomenon was a tragedy that was of concern to all and that was devastating the region, governments and public institutions and preventing people from living in peace.

He said that only through unity and integration of all the countries could they fight this cancer, quoting Simon Bolivar who said it was not just a pipe dream but our destiny.

Deputy Attorney General Rodolfo Espineira Ceballos, , expert and COMJIB representative Jose Ramon Anton and judges and other representatives of the Public Prosecution service were also present at the meeting.
