Green alert for several provinces

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) is still on green alert for several provinces in the country and has announced that 22 homes have been affected by mudslides in Cristo Rey in the National District.

The provinces on alert are Samana, Maria Trinidad Sanchez (Nagua), Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris), Elias Pina, San Juan, Azua, Peravia (Bani), San Cristobal, San Jose de Ocoa, Greater Santo Domingo, San Pedro De Macoris, Monte Plata, La Vega, Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui), Santiago, Espaillat (Moca), Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), La Romana and La Altagracia (Higuey).

According to the latest bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Office, (ONAMET), due to an area of low pressure off the southwest of the country there will be rain and thunderstorms during the next 48 hours especially in the southeast, southwest, northeast, central mountain area and the border regions.
