President Medina and First Lady Candida Montilla and their daughter Sibely were present for the lighting of the Presidential Palace Christmas tree, the Nativity scene and other seasonal decorations in Santo Domingo last night, Thursday 21 November. New this year is a replica of the Higuey Basilica, typical Dominican farmhouses with fruits and other Dominican products and folkloric items. The Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta, his wife Patria Abreu and Minister of Defense Sigfrido Pared Perez also attended the event. A choir of 38 children with special needs sang traditional Christmas songs.
