Parts of Santiago to go without water for a while

The water supply will be suspended starting today, Thursday 12 December in several parts of Santiago de los Caballeros city center, during an inspection operation to detect leaks. The sectors that will affected include Pueblo Nuevo, El Congo, Baracoa, La Joya, Los Hospedaje, Los Pepines, Avenida Las Carreras, from Cuba Street down, the city center and the Palace of Justice. The Santiago Water and Sewer Corporation (Coraasan) reports that the water service will be suspended starting at 6pm until 6am tomorrow, Friday 13 December. The agency is also advising people to store water so that they have some until the service is back to normal. The operation consists of the inspections of the water connections in the metered areas of Del Sol from Cuba down to Avenida Valerio and Duarte from the Circumvalacion (beltway) until 27 de Febrero. Also they will look at Franco Bido from the Circumvalacion down to Coraasan, Cuba Street from Del Sol to Las Carreras Avenue. The suspension of services also will affect the extension of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Corominas, Bonilla, Profamilia, Jimenez clinics and the Aloha Sol, Monterrey, Colonial and Gallo de Oro hotels.
