Yesterday, Tuesday 17 December General Juan Geronimo Brown Perez apologized for a photograph published in El Dia newspaper showing a group of AMET agents travelling on the bed of a tow truck on the Coral Highway between La Romana and Higuey.
He said that whoever had allowed them to travel to work in this unsafe means of transport would be disciplined and that AMET would never allow it to happen again.
Brown Perez acknowledged the responsibility of the newspaper in publishing the photograph, saying that it was totally unacceptable that his agents should break the very law they are supposed to uphold, and confirmed that strong disciplinary measures would be taken.
