Security to be enhanced in Boca Chica

Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia has called on the National Police and the Specialized Tourism Security Corps to improve protection measures for tourists visiting the country. He called for stepping up security especially in the communities of Boca Chica and Sosua, where crime has increased. Meanwhile, Police chief Major General Manuel Castro Castillo said that he would personally intervene in Boca Chica to strengthen security levels for all.

Earlier this month, two Italian tourists were injured in a violent robbery in Boca Chica, leading to widespread calls for enhanced security measures.
