The director of the Civil Aviation Board, Anibal Amparo announced he has just made available to the Ministry of Tourism RD$24.5 million and US$771,675 for tourism promotion abroad. This is part of an agreement to provide the Ministry with half of proceeds of the tourist card purchased by travelers. (26 February 2001)
