Summer flu

Hoy newspaper reports today on a flu-like cold that is affecting Dominicans. Dr. Jesus Feris Iglesias, in charge of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital, recommends those who catch the seasonal flu named “Capotillo” (for the slum where violent confrontations have taken place between police and residents) should not take antibiotics. He says it is best to take hot teas or analgesics that do not contain aspirin.
