Minister of Industry & Commerce Hugo Guiliani Cury proposes to cut US$140 million from the government’s petroleum bill. The ambitious National Plan for Energy Savings seeks to reduce power bills and fuel consumption by government departments by 20%. As part of the plan, energy efficient bulbs will be installed and a nationwide energy savings awareness program will be carried out. Minister Guiliani met with directors of 19 government departments to explain the plan.
