El Siglo newspaper says that Eduardo Selman, the former administrator of the Corporation of State Enterprises and former technical secretary to the Presidency during the Fernandez government, is interested in being the PLD party’s candidate for Senator for Santo Domingo in the 16 May 2002 election. Other hopefuls mentioned in the press are Francisco Dominguez Brito, former district attorney, and Flavio Darío Espinal, former Dominican ambassador to the OAS.
