The president of the Supreme Court, Jorge Subero Isa, said yesterday that if corruption in government is not punished the country will fall into a state of impunity that will encourage more corruption. He said in Listin Diario that corruption needs to be fought with preventive measures, such as the use of manuals and accounting procedures to confront the misbehavior of government officers. The clerks and administrators of public funds should live austere lives and a government money manager who has notably changed his lifestyle should be questioned, he said.
