Rafaela Albuquerque (PRSC-San Pedro de Macoris), president of the Chamber of Deputies, said she is waiting to meet with President Hipolito Mejia to get instructions regarding constitutional reform. “There are many things that are not clear with the constitutional reform. He should clarify them as the next step that we have to take,” she said. She commented that when she received the document prepared by the Presidential Special Commission on Constitutional Reform from legal advisor Guido Gomez Mazara she was confused. “Why did they send it, what are we going to do with it?” she told El Caribe. She said that normally when Congress receives a bill from the legal advisor it is up to the legislators to give their opinion in the form of a law.
