Legal summons for former President

Former President Leonel Fernandez has been asked to appear before the District Attorney on Thursday, 20 September, for questioning regarding the use of RD$1.4 billion from a government fund. Reportedly, the fund was handled during the last seven months of his government. Fernandez originally was invited to appear before the Department for the Prevention of Corruption, an invitation which he turned down alleging that the department did not have the authority to issue the summons.
