Ramon Reyes of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) says that an early audit of identification and voting cards (cedulas) has found 5,500 were incorrectly issued. The early audit was carried out by the JCE prior to contracting Price Waterhouse Coopers to carry out the final audit. President of the JCE Manuel Ramon Morel Cerda had reported earlier that the pre audit would be finished by the end of this month at which time the list of voters would be handed over to Price Waterhouse for the final audit. The JCE is the government body in charge of organizing presidential, congressional and municipal elections. The next elections, the congressional and municipal election, will be held 16 May 2002.
