The government announced it will sell the prime real estate where the Agriculture Bank (Banco Agricola) is located on the Malecon, the seafront boulevard. The lot was appraised at RD$251 million by the government and the building at RD$40 million. The money would be used to build the Banco de Desarrollo Agropecuario, as announced by the administrator of the Agriculture Bank, Radhames Rodriguez Valerio. The Agriculture Bank property is seen as an ideal site for the construction of a high rise hotel or a luxury apartment building. Rodriguez Valerio said that a tender will be held to sell the property.
