The Dominican Republic’s women’s youth volleyball team improved its overall ranking to 8th in the world. The DR team surprisingly defeated home team Croatia 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 and 25-19 in the event held in Croatia. The DR team had already defeated Japan, coming from behind in a surprise match. In the previous event held in 1997 in Thailand, the DR was ranked 9th, as reported by Listin Diario.
