The Council of Private Schools and the Association of Evangelical Schools are offering 747 classrooms so that 25,000 children can begin classes. A shortage of public school classrooms in the country has kept many children at home this school year. This morning, the Private Schools Council offered 472 classrooms in Santo Domingo and San Pedro. This afternoon, the Evangelical Schools Association will offer 275 more classrooms to the Education Department. There are still thousands more children waiting for classroom space.
