Newspaper reports say former President Juan Bosch is now breathing spontaneously after his doctors at the Abel Gonzalez Advanced Medical Center removed his breathing tube on Saturday. A medical report says his heart condition is stable without administering drugs. He has been in intensive care for the past 23 days and is said to be living his last days. Patricio Bosch, his son, said, “We cannot be unrealistic and we have to assume if it is not now it will be soon.” Bosch, a well-known Latin American fiction writer, is best known for having founded the PRD and the PLD political parties and for having been the first democratically elected President of the Republic after the Trujillo dictatorship.
