Architect Teofilo Carbonell, designer of the National Theaters of Santo Domingo and Santiago and the Columbus Lighthouse, died last week. Listin Diario remarked on his excellence and dedication as an architect, his commitment to teaching architecture and his eccentricities. At the time of his death, he cared for more than 50 street dogs he adored.
