Justice in a 26-year-old court case will have to wait a while longer. The Appeals Court has postponed the Orlando Martinez murder trial until December 12 so that the Ministry of Justice can formally cite retired General Salvador Lluberes Montas, who is implicated in the crime. As well, the Attorney General of the Appeals Court stated that a citation will be ordered for ex-president Joaquin Balaguer and others. Balaguer boasted in a book he wrote that he knows who assassinated Martinez, but the secret won?t be revealed until after his death. The journalist was murdered in 1975. In a previous trial, the accused were found guilty and sentenced to 30 years in jail but appealed their sentence.
