Now there’s more than one Santo Domingo

Last night, President Mejía approved the law creating the province of Santo Domingo, which will be made up of the four municipalities of Santo Domingo East, Santo Domingo West, Santo Domingo North and Boca Chica. The President finalized passage of the law in spite of opposition from various sectors who protested the division of the capital. The Listin Diario outlines the boundaries of the new province as: the province of Monte Plata to the north; the Isabela River to the south; the province of San Pedro de Macorís to the east; and the Ozama River and San Cristóbal province to the west.Peggy Cabral runs for Mayor??Peggy Cabral has announced she will run for the mayoralty of the National District for the PRD.
