Government to start spending bond money on Monday

The government has announced it will start a program of public projects on Monday using funds from the sovereign bonds, amounting to US$497.5 million. President Mejía along with his cabinet have analyzed the economic situation of the country, the effects of world events and the priority of works to be carried out. The details of each project and the amount of money designated for them will be announced early next week, according to El Siglo newspaper. At the same time, Mejía announced the cancellation of his planned 14-day trip to Europe which would have taken him to France, Italy, England, Spain and other countries. The trip was postponed due to the situation of unrest in the world.
