President Hipólito Mejía has a tight schedule planned for his trip to the US. He arrived in New York City early this morning to meet with city and state officials and with the large population of Dominicans affected by the terrorist attacks of September 11. He was scheduled to meet this morning with New York Governor George Pataki, then with Senator Hilary Clinton. President Mejía, New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani and Governor Pataki will visit ground zero in Manhattan together. Forty-one Dominicans are known to have died or disappeared as a result of the tragedy.
