Dominican athlete Claudine Garcia Albizu is ranked seventh in world womens professional racquetball (see http://www.ladiesproracquetball.com/rankings.htm). She leaves today for the US to participate in several major tournaments in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Memphis, Tennessee; Saskatoon, Canada and Denver, Colorado. So far she has placed among the top eight in all professional events she has participated in. Claudine Garcia placed second in the 14-year-old age category and third in the 16 year old category in the Orange Bowl of Miami (1990). She won the gold in the Central American and Caribbean tournament in 1993 and was eighth in the world racquetball championships in 1994. She took four years off before returning to the sport and winning bronze in doubles in the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1998 and making the quarter finals in the Winnipeg Pan Am games in 1999.
