As expected, former President Leonel Fern?ndez is the likely winner of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) primary held Sunday, 29 June. At deadline, the former statesman had obtained 87.14% de los votos. Still missing to be counted are 26.34% of the voting stations. His closest contender, former Vice President Jaime David Fern?ndez Mirabal always kept a distant second place, with 12.3%. The final tallies should be in latter today.
